Eel learnings!

Good Afternoon, Today a eel scientist called Don came and taught us more things about eels. Here are some of the many facts I learnt- Eels are long and slimy They are slimy so they can swim through things There are 3 spices in New Zealand long fin, short fin and Australian long fin which only comes out in the north island Anguilliformes  is a group eels 19 eel species world wide Long fins are fatter than short fins Eels can hear, sense and see very well They can grow up to 2m They don't eat everyday You can tell how old eels are by their ear bone but if you take it out the eel dies The oldest eel was about 112 I learnt so much more! South Sudan learnings!

Hello, Today two people who work in South Sudan called Janet and Phil came and taught the Batten team about South Sudan. Firstly they told as about South Sudan here are some of the many things I learnt- As-Salam Alaykum}Peace be with you Alaykum Salam As}Peace be with you to There are 65 different languages  In South Sudan It can get up to 42c high and 33c low The capital of South Sudan is Juba You need to drink lots of water or you will get a headache from the heat Water comes from the Nile river No power No Sewage You can't flush toilets because they are long drops! There is a hole in the ground the is 150m deep to get water  Water from underground is quite salty In South Sudan when the sun goes down the power goes of but you can still use batteries Juba has the only the only sealed road in the whole South Sudan In South Sudan they fly lots of little planes Lots of kids swim in the Nile river even though it is a bit dirty There are a few crocodiles in the Ni

School Swimming sports!

Aloha everyone! Last week we participated in school swimming sports. I did 50m freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke.  Here is a picture of me before freestyle. I'm second to last at the far end. Walk or Wheels day at School!

Hello everyone, On Wednesday our school had Walk or Wheels day at school. You can Walk or Wheel and if you live too far to walk or wheel you can drive close to the school and walk or wheel from there and I roller skated. At the end of the day before the bell rang we all meet in the hall for the PALs (Physical Activity Leaders) who drew out 5 or 6 names from each team and those people go up and pick a sticky note and give it to a PAL and they turn it over and on the bottom of the sticky note says the thing that they win (I didn't win one though). There were things like snap bands, drink bottles and a few other things to. Me roller skating-  Bye, MilanπŸ˜„πŸ™‚

Thursday's Eel trip!

Kia Ora, On Thursday we went to Centennial Park to see the Heathcote river to see the eels! They felt so slimy and squishy! _______________________________________________________ We also did some nature art on the grass- It's was a fun day at the Heathcote  river.
