Good Morning, We are now at the end of term 1 and all looking forward to the holidays!!!! Kia Ora, Last week I had been working on another South Sudan RE slide. The thing we were focusing on was Refugee camps; and that's why we had the refugee day (which I explain in a recent post) Here is my work- Enjoy Thanks for reading, Milan😜

As-Salam Alaykum, (Peace be with you in Arabic; which people in South Sudan speak) Yesterday The Batten Team took part in a Carita's challenge.   To start of the day we made forts out of cardboard, blankets/rags, string and duct tape. Then for lunch we had a small handful of rice like the people in South Sudan have and some people challenged their self to only have the rice, but of course we had our own lunch as well. We also had to eat with our hands like in South Sudan. After lunch we continued to our cardboard houses. Our one was not standing up but eventually we managed to get it to stand up. When we finished the juniors came and had a look at what we were doing I showed them the inside and my friend Xhin showed them the outside washing line we made. After that it was really hot people started getting there bowls and filling them with water. After that they tried to balance it on their head and got WET!! Hi everyone, This week the year 5-8s took part in Korfball. Korfball is basically netball and basketball. Our coach's name was Yori. The rules are pretty simple you can't move your feet you can only pivot like in netball. Good Afternoon, Today a eel scientist called Don came and taught us more things about eels. Here are some of the many facts I learnt- Eels are long and slimy They are slimy so they can swim through things There are 3 spices in New Zealand long fin, short fin and Australian long fin which only comes out in the north island Anguilliformes  is a group eels 19 eel species world wide Long fins are fatter than short fins Eels can hear, sense and see very well They can grow up to 2m They don't eat everyday You can tell how old eels are by their ear bone but if you take it out the eel dies The oldest eel was about 112 I learnt so much more!
